We’ve all followed a dream, an ideal, and come to where we are today. We’ve built our identity with the strength and spirituality we draw from our roots. I grew up in a family of farmers and teachers. This shaped my outlook on life and my vision for the future. In 1987, I took the first steps in my business life by establishing my sole proprietorship. Today, I know that we owe our standing as one of the most recognizable brands in agriculture and food to our family-owned business and to our colleagues who have worked tirelessly for 35 years. Dedicated to the value of the land and the labor of farmers, we have reached this point with our solution-oriented approach, our commitment to every promise we make, and our ethical values. We proudly carry the Grainturk name, the symbol of our corporate culture, both domestically and internationally. By investing every profit in agriculture, adding value to the fertility of our soil, we have made the sustainability of agriculture the focal point of our operations. As we grow, we have set our compass to enhance our country’s fertility and protect our national values, and we have increased our investments to ensure the safe storage of agricultural commodities. Considering the changing global landscape, we integrated green energy policies into our business models to ensure a sustainable legacy for future generations. While closely following technological advancements, we were thrilled to see many new concepts enter our lives and businesses. We quickly adapted to new business models and integrated global developments into our own business. The pandemic, which has impacted the entire world, changed our lifestyles, and brought new dimensions to business dynamics, has undoubtedly led us to better understand the importance of food and agriculture. Our warming world has also made us more aware of the threat of drought. Unfortunately, the drought that began in 2020 also caused significant losses in agriculture. With our green energy policies, we were able to ensure the continuity of agricultural production and minimize the negative impacts of changing climate conditions. Through our investments in licensed warehousing aligned with our green energy policy, we provided significant support to Turkish agriculture in preventing supply and logistics constraints in agricultural production. We have focused our efforts on the field to ensure the safe storage of our country’s agricultural production and to protect the labor of our farmers. We explained licensed warehousing to our farmers and stored their hard-earned produce in our warehouses. We also provided licensed warehousing services to the Turkish Grain Board, which is responsible for ensuring price stability for agricultural products in our country.
As a company, we have worked diligently to do justice to farmers, production, labor, and food. We understand that production is a challenging and arduous process. Similarly, we also understand the value of using our resources effectively. Therefore, we have conducted informative and awareness-raising activities for our farmers on more efficient and modern production, irrigation, and seed use. We have shared our expertise with them to ensure the fertility of our lands lasts for generations. The price increases in agricultural commodities resulting from the expansion of the global economy have significantly increased the turnover and profitability of the products we trade. Our experienced colleagues, who daily monitor international markets, harvest status in producing countries, international agricultural commodity auctions, TMO policies, and published reports, have made effective decisions with us. As Mustafa Kemal Atatürk said, “A merchant is someone whose hands and intelligence are entrusted to the value of the nation’s labor and production, and who must demonstrate their worthiness in this trust,” we have worked tirelessly to value the labor of all farmers we could reach in Turkey during these extraordinary circumstances. Instead of importing agricultural products, we focused our energy on domestic product trade to develop domestic production, benefit Turkish farmers, and ensure the sustainability of Turkish agriculture. Acting with the awareness that domestic production represents a significant economic asset, we began fruit production in our own gardens to return the power we derive from our land to our own land. We also completed export processes, becoming a full-fledged part of agricultural production. In addition to our dedicated agricultural activities, we are experiencing renewed excitement with another investment that will add value to human life. We have begun work to transform the Shopping Mall in İskenderun, one of our long-standing investment tools, into a more productive space. We are pleased to share with you this step we have taken to provide the largest and most luxurious business center in its location with the NEW TOWER Business and Life Tower. In this period of high economic activity, we are meticulously managing our risk and taking important steps to manage potential problems we may encounter. By prioritizing the use of TÜRİB in sales transactions, we have minimized our collection risk and maturities by allowing transactions to be processed through the Central Registry Agency in the spot market. We have updated our customer risk profiles; We achieved our sales with the new policies we established. As Grainturk, we will continue to grow both domestically and internationally, continue our investments, and bring the hard work and dedication of Turkish farmers to the world with a success story dedicated to agriculture. Agriculture is perhaps more prominent and demonstrating its value than ever before, both in our country and globally. While maintaining our consistent growth, we will continue to reinvest our agricultural earnings back into agriculture and to bring its fertility to the soil. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our valued customers, suppliers, colleagues, their families, and all our stakeholders who have supported us throughout this process.
With love and respect
